Zachary is now in his fourth year of Spanish immersion, occupying half of his school day, and continues to study French, which comes in handy during our summer trips to Switzerland. Band started this year (4th grade) and Zak is now up to a blue belt in Karate. He has recently taken an interest in playing schoolyard football. This summer Zak competed in the Junior National Badminton championships in Marblehead, MA, and ended up ranked number 7 in the U.S. in doubles for both the under 11 age bracket and the under 13s!
Welcome to Yoshi the rabbit, the latest addition the family.
Lynn organized people in Phoenixville to create a new event, the Firebird Festival. This extravaganza celebrated the story of the Phoenix rising from the ashes with music, dancing, storytelling, giant puppets, and culminated in the burning of a giant 20 foot wooden bird in downtown Phoenixville! In her off time, she continues to provide music therapy services to seniors, and has just taken on the position of Activities Director at the Unitatrian Universalist House (elder care facility) in Phila.
Eric continues his work for Music for People, and this year taught an additional Biofeedback course in Switzerland during the summer. He also coordinated a Swiss badminton camp with master coach Lawrence Chew. Zak and Eric camped out by the lake at Yverdon Les Bains during the badminton training week. Eric also continues his research in music and EEG brainwaves via an NIH mini-grant through Immaculata University.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Uncle Walter and Uncle David this year. We also lost our good friend and neighbor Brad Burkhart. So on we go with their memories in our hearts providing inspiration as we move forward.
